Welcome to Volunteers of America of Southwest California

Through our ministry of service, Volunteers of America of Southwest California (VOA) helps individuals and families acquire the hope and skills needed to live more productive and satisfying lives. Whether teaching a child to read, providing nutritious meals to homebound seniors, or helping a family in crisis transition to stability and independence, VOA believes there are no limits to caring.

For more than 118 years Volunteers of America has been the charity to step forward and help the most vulnerable in communities across the United States. Each year, more than 13,000 lives are changed through our services.

We have facilities located in San Diego, Imperial, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Founded in 1896, Volunteers of America is a nonprofit health and human services organization. Our programs focus on five primary service areas:

  • Education & Social Development
  • Treatment & Rehabilitation Services
  • Aging & Baby Boomer Responsiveness
  • Housing Services
  • Disabled Veterans' services

Employee Benefits

Volunteers of America cares about its employees and their families and offers a robust benefits program. The company pays 100% of the premiums for Life Insurance, Short-term and Long-term Disability plans for Full-time employees. On the first of the month following 30 days of employment, Full-time employees are eligible to enroll in Medical, Dental, Vision and 403b Retirement Plans. You can also choose to enroll in Supplemental Life and AD & D insurance plans.

In addition to vacation and sick pay we offer 8 holidays plus one Personal Day off to all eligible employees. Employees who have completed three years of service with VOA may apply for tuition reimbursement for courses related to their job.
