Job Opportunity:

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor the Monitor will monitor the activities of the clients in and out of the center; the safety and security of the building and its residents and ensures the normal operation of the Center's activities.

Job Requirements:

Associate Degree or equivalent related experience in social services or equivalent experience in an administrative or paralegal role. Demonstrated competency in the areas of: research, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, strong writing skills, independent thinker, web-based databases, and Office programs including excel and word.  Ability to successfully pass fingerprints and criminal investigation screening. Must have valid driver's license and must meet insurance guidelines established by the Corporation. CPR/First Aid certified. Ability to obtain a TB test and health screening and meet all pre-hiring requirements as defined in Title 22 and contract.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 2000.
  • Superior analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of charter schools, Early Head Start, and State Preschool or educational institution operations helpful.
  • Aptitude for understanding complex contracts and/or grants/spreadsheets, regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to meet and adhere to project deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain State and local policies, procedures laws and regulations
  • Able to promote the mission and values of Volunteers of America Southwest.
  • Ability to travel to multiple counties
  • Proficient in web based databases and uploading information onto a website


  • Researches, analyzes and evaluates new or proposed complex legislation, statutes, regulations and policies by local educational agencies and associated agencies.
  • Develops and presents analysis and recommendations on strategies. Assists in drafting policies, procedures and manuals
  • Coordinates and facilitates training around specific topics.
  • Supports the coordination of meetings and administrative functions
  • Develops and supports implementation of data tracking system
  • Generates, Completes, and Reviews Reports for accuracy
  • Creates drafts of correspondence and applications
  • Consults with various agencies as needed to gain understanding of compliance issues.
  • Sources information related to a broad range of education policy and programs.
  • Assists in preparation of audit information.
  • Provides day to day support to the Division Director and Program Managers as required.
  • Tracks and communicates changes in contracts, regulations and requirements within the field of early childhood education and charter schools
  • Other duties as assigned.
