Job Opportunity:

The full-time Outreach/Intake Specialist will be responsible for indentifying,engaging, and screening homeless individuals in San Diego County.  This position will work in the field to target individuals in need of housing and supportive services by scouting locations where homeless individuals frequent, participating in homeless provider events in the community, and coordinating with internal and external programs that serve homeless individuals. Responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with local homeless providers and the local continuum of care in efforts to locate and engage clients.

Job Duties:

Completing initial screenings, identifying clients, completing intake paperwork, coordinating with staff to identify clients, coordinating with staff to ensure clients are enrolled in the program and adequately provided services.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in social services or related field and a minimum of two years experience providing outreach and engagement services to various homeless populations.
  • Ability to successfully pass fingerprint and criminal investigation screening.
  • Must have valid driver's license and meet insurance guidelines established by Corporation.
  • Ability to pass a TB test and health screening.
  • Knowledge of programs criteria and applicable community resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment in critical situations involving vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English and Bilingual in Spanish helpful.
  • Proficient with computer systems in Microsoft applications and ServicePoint. 
  • Working knowledge of community resources in San Diego County. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
