Volunteers of America is seeking a Development and Communications Associate (DCA)!

As an integral part of this transformational organization, the DCA will record, process, and acknowledge donor gifts to Volunteers of America Southwest through its donor database. This person will help build new relationships through prospect research and analysis, maintaining and managing confidential donor information, and assisting with the creation and delivery of compelling content to build and strengthen current and potential donor relationships.

The DCA maintains the agency's donor database and works to proactively manage and improve all aspects of the donor experience for our constituents. This includes gift data entry, processing and receipting; ensuring accurate database content; running queries, exports, and reports; proposing and creating systems that improve the donor experience; as well as being a communicator; a story-teller who makes significant contribution to the team effort of promoting and sharing the success and vision of Volunteers of America Southwest.

 

QUALIFICATIONS :

        Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Marketing, Business, Journalism or similar.

        1-3 years' experience working for a nonprofit agency in a similar capacity.

        Proficiency with Raiser's Edge, Research Point, Donor Perfect, Blackbaud, Clearview software or  similar platforms, including experience performing queries and analytical reports preferred.

        Commitment and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy.

        Excellent data entry, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.

        Analytical, creative problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented.

        Creative, innovative, enthusiastic, flexible, high-energy and positive attitude.

DETAILS: Business casual office in Mission Valley, Monday - Friday, flexible, generally 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Occasional evening or weekend work required leading up to large events.
